Our Journey --

Where We've Come From

At various stages in the early 2000s Red Hill and Tootgarook Churches of Christ discussed the possibility of amalgamation. But it wasn't until 2007, after many meetings that the two churches agreed to close their doors and become one congregation.

Traditionally, such amalgamations are incredibly difficult - both congregations were ageing, declining in size and had differing cultures. However, through the guiding influence of two highly experienced church leaders in Ted & Marge Keating, the process was successfully and healthily negotiated.

A new congregation - Bayview Church was launched with about 45 people. With the proceeds of the sale of the two churches assets, a disused Telstra warehouse and a former child care centre were purchased and a building program commenced.

In January 2014, the building development was completed with facilities including: auditorium, a large communal area for hospitality, a range of rooms for kids programs, outdoor playgrounds and administration/office space.

We are indebted to those who have gone before us for pioneering and paying the price to establish Bayview Church.
